Horses in Our Care

RCR is currently home to about 80 horses, with some being trained for re-homing. We have adapted areas of our property to care for horses with special needs, including our blind horse population — a testament to our commitment that no horse is left behind.

Big Red arrived at Red Clay Ranch severely underweight and in need of proper care. With nourishment, safety, and compassion, this gentle senior quickly began to regain his strength.

Finn arrived at RCR severely starved and unable to stand. With intensive care and proper nutrition, he made an incredible recovery. Today, he is fully recovered and represents the power of rescue and rehabilitation.

Savannah came to Red Clay Ranch in urgent need of care. With food, safety, and compassion, she regained her strength and has since been adopted into a loving home.

Sanctuary Resident

Aimee is a Tennessee Walking Horse who survived soring. Because her hooves are permanently damaged, she needs soft ground and ongoing hoof care. Now in her 20s, she will live safely at RCR for life.

Red has called Red Clay Ranch home for more than a decade. Living with arthritis in his front legs, he receives gentle, attentive care that helps him remain comfortable through every season.
