Red Clay Ranch Equine Rescue and Sanctuary, Inc. began unexpectedly in 2011. Seeing the widespread neglect and abuse of horses across the Southeastern United States, we stepped in and began caring for those in need.
We rescue horses from neglect, abuse, and abandonment across Georgia and the eastern United States.
Through medical care, farrier services, proper nutrition, and gentle handling, we help them heal and rebuild trust.
When adoption is not possible, we provide a safe, lifelong sanctuary including for our blind horse population.

We are always ready to welcome volunteers! There are plenty of opportunities to help us feed, mend fences, groom horses, help out around the farm, and clerical duties. Being at the farm is therapeutic and both our volunteers and horses feel better at the end of the day.
We are also in need of volunteers with special skill sets for fundraising, event planning, horse training, or folks who can obtain donated items for auctions.
Each horse at our sanctuary has a unique story. From blind rescues to former showhorses, they all deserve a life filled with dignity and care.
RCR's current population is around 80 on our 180-acre ranch with some being trained for adoption. We have adapted various paddocks on our ranch to accommodate those with special requirements, such as our blind horse population. Accommodations for specific needs is an example of our commitment that no horse is left behind. With proper medical attention, farrier services, nutrition, and gentle handling, they learn to trust again.
